Hm. I've read lots of articles about insomnia over the years, and both of those are strongly not recommended. One because it doesn't work and may actually build anxiety over being in bed and the other because all that blue light wakes you up more, plus using the tablet in bed ruins your automatic association between the bed and sleep.
I believe that what's most commonly recommended is to leave your bed and go to some other room to do something quiet and not very stimulating, and not on a screen - something like taking a warm shower, re-reading a calming book, meditating, mopping the kitchen floor, folding laundry, whatever it is that isn't likely to wake you up more.
